Principal's Message

Dear Roosevelt Parents & Students,
We made it! I understand this last part of the year was challenging as we navigated COVID-19, childcare, staying healthy, and the overall safety of our families. I could not be prouder of Roosevelt teachers and staff, the community, and our parents for helping students to finish the school year strong. Undoubtedly, this experience will help teach our students about the perseverance it takes to get through difficult times. So, congratulations to you and our students for making it until the end of the school year!
As we look toward the upcoming school year, I know we are all wondering what it will look like in August. I encourage you to follow the Paramount Unified School District webpage and social media sites for updates this summer as it relates to the 2020-21 school year.
It is an honor to be the principal of Roosevelt School and I am thankful to serve such an amazing group of kids, parents, teachers, staff, and community.
I wish you a wonderful summer.  Stay safe and healthy Roughriders!!!
Mrs. Domino

Parking Lot Procedures

During morning drop off, cars are to move forward into the “Drop Off Zone.”  Students may exit cars anywhere in the drop zone and enter campus through the south gate near the 1st-5th playground.  TK and kindergarten parents will use the same procedure. Please do not stop or drop off students at the curb as you enter the parking lot.  There will be very limited parking available to be used only if you have school business.  If you would like to continue to walk your child onto campus, please park on the street.  During dismissal, students may be picked up from Gate #1, Gate #2, or the “Pick- Up Zone.”  As student safety is our number 1 priority, please be sure to follow all procedures, use sidewalks, and marked crosswalks.

New VMS System

Visitor Management System (VMS)
Roosevelt School is pleased to announce that we are implementing a new Visitor Management System (VMS) in order to ensure the safety and security of our campus.  Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is on our campus at all times. The VMS will allow us to do just that. The VMS tracks visitors, contractors and volunteers coming into our school and cross references a visitor’s name and birthdate with that of the national sex offender registry. In doing so, the VMS will provide an alert on people who may jeopardize the safety of our campus.
Visitors requesting to enter the campus, will be asked to present a valid, government issued ID, such as a driver’s license, military identification card, passport or passport card, which will then be scanned or manually entered into the system.  The data taken from the ID provided is only for comparison to the sex offender database and the information is not shared with any outside government agencies.  Once entry is approved, you will be issued a printed badge with your name, photograph, the date, and the purpose of your visit.  All visitors are required to wear the printed badge while on our campus.
A visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our school simply to drop off and/or pick up paperwork, other items, or your child from the office. Similar to our current policy, visitors will not be permitted to enter campus without valid identification.
The safety of our students and staff is very important to all of us here at Roosevelt School.  Thank you in advance for supporting our continued efforts to keep our school community safe.
